The City of Heraklion
The capital of Crete, Greece is a modern, particularly lively town, which offers every kind of experience and form of recreation both in summer and winter. Heraklion can make a fine base for touring around Crete because of its' location in the middle of the northern coast of the island. From here you can easily tour both the western as well as the eastern side of Crete.
