Crete - Home of Legends & Myths
Being the birthplace of Zeus, father of the gods, home to one of the greatest civilizations, the Minoan, and the target of many conquerors, Crete offers an abundance of myths, legends and history.
There is substantial mythology about Crete.
The Homeric epics, Daedalus and Icarus, King Minos and the Minotaur, and even, Atlantis, were all influenced by hearsay and speculation about the lost Cretan empire. But myths and legends never seize.
Even in Crete's newer history, one can find myths such as the Drosoulites.
